Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan extends condolences on Montserrat Caballé’s demise
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a condolence cable on the passing of world-renowned opera singer Montserrat Caballé.
The message reads, in part: “With deep sorrow, I learned the painful news of the passing of world-famous and unrivalled opera singer Montserrat Caballé.
Invaluable is her contribution to the world of singing art. She symbolized the best soprano and the best human as the embodiment of those artistic virtues as are called to make life kinder, more colorful and harmonious.
These very qualities motivated the UN Honorary Ambassador and the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, La Superbera to stand by the weak and the oppressed. She used her reputation and authority to raise many latent problems that were ignored in the world.
The Armenian people will always remember with love and gratitude their beloved Montserrat, her two visits to Armenia and Artsakh, and the unforgettable concert in Stepanakert, which she dedicated to Artsakh’s peace and prosperity.
I convey sincere condolences on this irreparable loss to Montserrat Caballé’s family and friends, as well as to the friendly people of Spain.”
