Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a condolence message to Chancellor Angela Merkel of the Federal Republic of Germany on the bus crash on the Portuguese island of Madeira.

The message reads, in part:

“With deep sorrow, I learned of the tragic accident, which killed 29 German tourists in Madeira.

I express my deepest condolences and sympathy to you, to the families and friends of the victims, wishing fortitude and patience to overcome the grave loss.

I wish quick recovery to those injured in the accident.”
