Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a condolence telegram to His Holiness Pope Francis on the occasion of the death of Benedict XVI.

The message reads as follows,

"Your Holiness,

It was with a heavy heart that I received the news about the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.

On behalf of the Armenian people and the government, please accept our deepest condolences and solidarity.

With his spiritual closeness, Pope Benedict became for us an unyielding supporter of dialogue and  principlism.

Please accept, Your Holiness, the assurance of my highest consideration”.
