Congratulatory telegrams
UK Prime Minister Theresa May extends congratulations to Nikol Pashinyan
UK Prime Minister Theresa May has sent a congratulatory message to Nikol Pashinyan on his being elected Armenia’s Prime Minister. The message reads in part:
“I welcome your ambition to consolidate Armenia’s position as a democratic state, in which the principles of human rights, fundamental freedoms and rule of law are deeply embedded. You can rely on the UK’s practical support for your efforts in this area. We stand ready to share our experience and expertise with your government, state institutions and civil society as you work to build a bright future for Armenia and the Armenian people.
The UK-Armenia bilateral relationship is already strong, but I would like to see it further strengthened in areas including trade and investment and inter-parliamentary cooperation. Internationally, I hope we can work together to tackle global challenges, promote our shared values and uphold the rules-based international system.”
