Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Ararat region and got acquainted with the programs implemented in 2023 and those currently in progress.
Nikol Pashinyan's first stop was in the Artashat community, where he was presented with the project to establish an intensive garden by the "Elart Agro" company with the support of the Government in the Dalar village. The company made an investment of more than 400 million AMD, the government returned around 119 million AMD to the investor. As a result, 10 hectares of cherry and peach orchards were established.
Next, the Prime Minister was presented with the proposal for the preservation and development of the group of monuments of historic Armenian capital Artashat of Ararat region. Requested by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, the archeological expedition excavating Artashat developed a proposal for the preservation and development of the historical Artashat capital's monument group. By the request of the Ministry, in 2024-2025 an information center with its own infrastructure will also be built in the area. According to the concept, new excavations, reinforcments, repair and restoration works are planned in the already excavated areas. A program to make the riverside part of the Old Artashat capital accessible to citizens and tourists will also be implemented.
Then, Nikol Pashinyan visited the construction site of an individual residential house being built within the framework of the Government's state support program for housing security in the border settlements in the Paruyr Sevak settlement of the Ararat community, and got acquainted with the progress of the works. The beneficiaries thanked the Government for such an initiative, stressing that the program of 16 million AMD has also aroused great interest in Paruyr Sevak. Within the scope of the project, there are 76 approved applications in Yerasakh, of which 32 are in the construction phase, in Paruyr Sevak, 69 are approved, for 7 of which loans have been provided. In the conversation with the residents of the village, the Prime Minister also discussed the existing problems. The water issue was highlighted and the next steps of the Government will be aimed at solving this problem.
The works of establishing the "Kapantex" sewing factory in the Paruyr Sevak settlement were presented to the Head of the Government. Within the scope of the project, the investor made an investment equivalent to about 700 thousand dollars. In total, 50 new jobs will be created. The product is planned to be mainly exported. Currently, two production facilities have been built, two more are planned to be put into operation. The territory is improved, the necessary infrastructures are formed.
In Paruyr Sevak, an intra-community road was also fundamentally repaired under the subsidy program. The cost of the project is 50 million AMD, of which 27 million was allocated by the Government. A new school is also being built in the village.
In Yeraskh settlement of Ararat community, the Prime Minister got acquainted with the progress of construction of sports school. The total cost of the works carried out within the framework of the subsidy program is around 173 million AMD, of which 112 million AMD was provided by the Government. The work will be completed this year.
Nikol Pashinyan's next stop was in Ararat village of Ararat community, where he was presented with the construction process of the metal smelting plant. "GTB Steel" company is establishing a steel production plant in Armenia, the initial production capacity of which is 112,800 tons per year. Initially, the factory will have 300 employees, but within 3 years the number of main employees will increase to 700. The initial investment is $30 million. The plant is expected to be fully operational and have finished products by the end of 2024.
Within the framework of the regional visit, the Prime Minister also got acquainted with the road repair works of Ararat city. The total cost of the works carried out within the framework of the subsidy program was 77 million AMD, of which 42 million AMD was allocated by the Government. As a result of the implementation of the project, about 1 km of road was completely repaired.
The progress of construction of sports school in Ararat settlement was also presented to the Head of the Government. The total cost of the works carried out within the framework of the subsidy program is about 353 million AMD, of which 229 million was allocated by the Government.
The Prime Minister visited the Aygavan branch of the "Yerevan Brandy Factory" company. Those in charge noted that the factory procured 29,560 tons of grapes in 2023, of which 10,521.5 tons at the Aygavan procurement point. In 2024 it is planned to procure more than 32,000 tons of grapes, 12,000 tons of which in the Aygavan branch. The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of quality cognac production in our country and emphasized the importance of efficient organization of the grape procurement process.
Nikol Pashinyan was presented with the construction works of the drinking water line of Aygavan settlement. The total cost of the works carried out within the framework of the subsidy program was about 385 million AMD, of which 230 million was allocated by the Government. As a result of the implementation of the project, about 26.6 km of new water line was built. About 1241 households are beneficiaries of the project.
The Prime Minister also got acquainted with the construction of a smart stall barn by the private sector in Aygavan settlement. About 900 million AMD was invested. There are 135 head of cattle in the new stall barn.
Within the framework of the working visit, the construction works of the school in the Vanashen settlement of the Vedi community were presented to the Prime Minister. The cost of the construction carried out with the credit funds of the Asian Development Bank and the funds of the Armenian state budget is about 2 billion 400 million AMD. As a result, the settlement will have a newly built school. The school is designed for 432 students. Construction works started in 2023.
Next, the Prime Minister got acquainted with the construction works of the Vedi reservoir, which is already ready to store water. The capacity of the reservoir built from scratch is 29 million cubic meters. The reservoir and irrigation system construction project is financed by the loan funds of the French Development Agency and the co-financing of the Armenian government. The total cost of the project is 90 million euros.
Within the framework of the visit, Nikol Pashinyan was also presented with the major repair works of the streets of the Aralez settlement of the Vedi community. The total cost of the works carried out within the framework of the subsidy program is 148 million AMD, of which 81 was allocated by the Government. As a result of the project, the settlement will have 2.1 km of repaired road.
In the Aralez settlement, the Head of the Government got acquainted with the conditions created in the newly built kindergarten. The cost of the project was 882 million AMD allocated by the Government. The newly built kindergarten is intended for 144 children.
The reconstruction works of Artashat High School were presented to the Prime Minister. The cost of the project is 1 billion 238 million AMD. As a result, Artashat High School will have a reconstructed school with a capacity of 462 seats. The reconstruction works started in 2023.
Nikol Pashinyan was also presented with the reconstruction works of Artashat Medical Center. The total cost of the project was about 306 million AMD. As a result, the Artashat polyclinic will have a reconstructed and earthquake-resistant building. The construction works started in 2023, now the reinforcment works are in progress.
In the Verin Dvin community, the Prime Minister had a meeting with the population and got acquainted with the issues and problems that concern them.
As part of the regional visit, Nikol Pashinyan was presented with the works of repairing and asphalting the streets of Vardashen and Mrganush settlements of Artashat community. The total cost of the works carried out under the subsidy program was about 90 million AMD, of which 31 million was allocated by the Government. As a result of the implementation of the project, about 1.1 km of road was repaired (Vardashen settlement: 0.5 km, Mrganush settlement: 0.6 km).
In the Artashat community, the Prime Minister got acquainted with the construction of the irrigation system in the Dalar settlement. The total cost of the works carried out under the subsidy program was 24 million AMD, of which 14 million was allocated by the Government. As a result of the implementation of the project, an irrigation system of 0.846 km was built.
The works of repairing and asphalting the streets of Dalar settlement were also presented to the Head of the Government. The total cost of the works implemented under the subsidy program was 71 million AMD, of which 25 million was allocated by the Government. As a result of the implementation of the project, about 0.6 km of road was completely repaired.
The Prime Minister familiarized himself with the works of major repair of the 9.5 km section of the interstate highway (former M-15) H-61, /M-4/ (Upper Ptghni) - Masis transport hub (Yerevan bypass), which have been completed. The total cost of the project was about 1 billion 479 million AMD, which was allocated by the Government. The length of the road is 9.5 km.
The Head of the Government also got acquainted with the conditions created in the newly built high school No. 5 of Masis. The project was implemented with the funds of the state budget, the cost is 795 million AMD. Massis High School has a capacity of 288 students.
Nikol Pashinyan was presented with the process of repairing the streets of Masis city. The total cost of the works implemented under the subsidy program is 321 million AMD, of which 112 million was allocated by the Government. The length of the roads under repair is about 2.34 km, 1.64 km have been repaired, the works are in progress.
The last stop of the Prime Minister's visit was in the Hayanist settlement of Masis community, where the construction process of the school was presented. The cost of the construction carried out with the credit funds of the Asian Development Bank and the funds of the Armenian state budget is about 2 billion 423 million AMD. As a result, the settlement will have a newly built school. The school is designed for 432 students.
Prime Minister Pashinyan also had a number of unscheduled stops in Ararat region, during which he talked with the residents, got acquainted with the problems and answered various questions.
