Prime Minister Pashinyan gets acquainted with the implemented and ongoing programs in Vayots Dzor region

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Vayots Dzor region and got acquainted with the programs implemented in 2023 and currently in progress.

Nikol Pashinyan's first stop was the city of Jermuk, where he got acquainted with the works of construction of the road to the Deer statue and the observation deck. The Government allocated more than 232 million AMD for the implementation of the project. As a result, there will be a 1.6 km well-maintained road, an observation deck, which will contribute to the development of tourism in the community. 92% of the construction works have been completed, completion is planned for 2025. The subsidy program for the lighting of the rocks surrounding the Arpa river gorge and the road leading to the Deer statue, the symbol of Jermuk, was also presented. The total cost of the project was more than 34 million AMD, of which 20.6 million AMD was allocated by the Government.

The Head of the Government also got acquainted with the works of repair, improvement, construction of pavilions and information center of the alley leading from Shahumyan Street to the pub in Jermuk. The total cost of the project is AMD 94 million, allocated by the Government. 20 pavilions were built, 180 m of alley was repaired and improved. An information center was also built.

Then, Nikol Pashinyan was introduced restoration and improvement works of a number of streets in Jermuk, a total of 4.1 km. The Government allocated AMD 704 million for the project.

In the Jermuk community, the private sector is also carrying out repair works of the "Gladzor" sanatorium. The cost of the investment program is about 7.5 billion AMD. As a result, a high-class hotel designed for 200 people will be built. The works are scheduled to be completed in 2025.

The Prime Minister visited the Park of the Freedom Fighters of Jermuk and familiarized himself with the improvement works carried out there. The total cost of the subsidy program was more than 30 million AMD, of which 13.8 million AMD was allocated by the Government.

Details were also presented to the Head of the Executive regarding the improvement works of the 2.4 km section of Mashtots street in Jermuk. The cost of the project was more than 732 million AMD, which was allocated by the Government. The work is expected to be completed in November.

Nikol Pashinyan's next stop was Gndevank, where improvement works are being carried out on a 1.7 km section of the walking trail. The total cost of the project is more than 117 million AMD, the works will be completed next year. It was also noted that the improved walking trail will contribute to the development of tourism in the community. At the same time, the restoration works of St. Astvatsatsin Church and frescoes, which were initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture, are in process.

The Prime Minister also familiarized himself with the repair works of the 8.7 km section of the M-2 - Herher - Karmrashen interstate road. The Government allocated 790 million 900 thousand AMD for the project.

Nikol Pashinyan was also in the newly built secondary school of Gomki. The Government allocated more than 694 million AMD for the construction of the new school for 100 students. A banquet hall with a capacity of 100 seats and a mini football field were built in the school.

The Prime Minister congratulated those present on the occasion of the opening of the school and noted that it is the biggest investment made in the entire history of Gomk village, which can be considered a historical event. Nikol Pashinyan instructed to start the second phase of the 1 state support program of 6 million AMD for housing security in border rural settlements from Gomk settlement. According to the Prime Minister, it should be targeted and contribute to the development of villages.

Next, the Head of the Government visited the Kindergarten of the Zaritap settlement of the Vayk community, the cost of the subsidy program for the repair of the first building is 64 million AMD, of which about 45 million AMD was allocated by the Government. The renovated kindergarten will be designed for 200 students. 78% of the construction works have been completed.

The total cost of the asphalting subsidy project on Shahumyan street of Vayk community was 396.8 million AMD, 45% of which, 187.5 million AMD, was the state share. The works have been completed, 1,850 meters of road have been asphalted, all infrastructures have been changed.

Details were presented to the Prime Minister regarding the repair and reconstruction project of the regional center of the Unified Social Service in Vayk. The Government allocated 183.7 million AMD for the repair and reconstruction of the center.

AMD 1.5 billion was also allocated for the repair of the 12 km section of the M-2/ (Areni) - Khachik - Gnishik - Yeghegnadzor interstate road.

Next, the Prime Minister visited the 14th mansion of Chesar Orbelyan (Chesar's gate) of Hors village. It was noted that in 2024, by the order of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (11 million AMD), the archaeological expedition of the "Service for protection of historical environment and historical-cultural museum-reserves" SNPO carried out excavations in the area of the site and the adjacent small church. By the order of the ministry, the restoration project of the Chesar palace and the adjacent small church is also being drawn up (about 9.6 million AMD). Restoration works are planned from 2026.

The Head of the Government was also present at the opening ceremony of the new Yeghegis school building. As a result of the implementation of the project worth more than 737 million AMD, a new school for 100 students, a shelter, a banquet hall with a capacity of 100 seats and a mini football field were built. Addressing the audience, Nikol Pashinyan noted that the Government does not close schools in any village, but builds schools that meet modern conditions for all villages. The Prime Minister emphasized that although this school is in Yeghegis, Yeghegis is an enlarged community and the proper education of children from other settlements will also be organized here. It was also mentioned that the Government will solve the issue of transportation of students coming from other settlements.

The Prime Minister addressed the students of the newly built school. "First get rich with knowledge, then by applying that knowledge, get rich and enrich your state as well. The building is just an inanimate object and you are the one who has to give life to the building, you are the one who has to give life to the environment, make the community, the region and the republic more lively.

Then the Prime Minister visited Shatin secondary school. The government allocated 209 million 980 thousand AMD for the reconstruction of the gymnasium and banquet hall of Shatin secondary school. As a result of the implementation of the project, the school has a new gymnasium and a banquet hall with a capacity of up to 100 students/place.

While presenting the repair works of the bridge located on the M-10, Sevan-Martuni-Getap interstate road, it was mentioned that strengthening of the bearing structures of the bridge that are in an emergency condition and repair of the retaining walls are being carried out. The Government allocated more than 94 million AMD for the implementation of the project. The works will be completed in 2025.

"GHM-Armenia" development fund built a kindergarten in Areni settlement of Areni community with an investment of about 1.3 billion AMD. The newly built kindergarten will have a capacity of up to 120 students.

Nikol Pashinyan visited a 20 ha intensive vineyard established by "Noa of Areni" LLC with the support of the Government in the Rind settlement of Areni community. It was noted that during 8 years, about 3 billion AMD was invested for the establishment and daily expenses of the orchard and the factory. The company is on the market with its NOA, Arkuri, Arevuni and TAT brands, currently exporting its products to more than ten countries. The main markets are Russia, Europe, USA, Brazil. The company was founded in 2017. In 2017-2018 the company bought 45 hectares of vineyards in Rind and Aghavnadzor villages of Areni community. The works started in 2019. A 20-hectare intensive vineyard was established within the framework of the state support program. For this purpose, a subsidized loan was provided in the amount of 172 million AMD. From 2023, grapes are grown organically in the 65 ha orchard, it is planned to receive an organic certificate at the end of 2025. Within the framework of the state support program, a loan of 99 million AMD was provided for the purpose of investing in a drip irrigation system in the 65-hectare orchard, which has been fully repaid as of now.

Prime Minister Pashinyan's last stop was the construction site of a kindergarten building in Yelpin settlement of Areni community. The total cost of the subsidy program is 343.4 million AMD, 80% of which, 274.7 million AMD, was allocated by the Government. The newly built kindergarten will be designed for 60 students. Currently, about half of the works have been completed, the other part will be completed before the end of the year.
