PM Pashinyan gets acquainted with the implemented and ongoing programs in Shirak region

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Shirak region and got acquainted with the programs implemented in 2023 and currently in progress.

Nikol Pashinyan was first presented with reinforcment and preservation works of the 4th-5th century temple of Yereruyk. The total cost of the project is 495 million AMD. The works are being carried out in stages within the framework of the memorandum signed between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and the US Embassy in Armenia. The budget for the first phase of the project is $175,000, the works started on September 30, 2023.

Next, the Prime Minister was presented with the repair works of the 14.25 km and 14.9 km sections of the H-75, M-9-Isahakyan-Gyumri-M-7 roads (from Anipemza to Shirakanavan). The contract value is around 3 billion AMD, of which 2.96 billion AMD are the works in Shirak region, the remaining part in Aragatsotn.

The Head of the Government was also presented with the multi-functional equipment acquired for Maralik's needs. The total cost of the subsidy program is 43 million AMD, of which the government allocated 26 million AMD. A JCB-3cx excavator-lifter was purchased under the program. At the same time, the Government allocated 279 million AMD for the urgent needs of the community, within the framework of which Maralik's Haghtanak and Dzerzhinsky streets, Liberty Square were repaired.

Next, Nikol Pashinyan was presented with the renovation works of Artik's kindergarten No. 3. 223 million AMD was allocated from the state budget 2023. About 187 million AMD were actually spent. The kindergarten is designed for 140 children.

In Artik, the construction works of a "Modular" type nursery-kindergarten with a capacity of 144 places were also presented to the Prime Minister. The total cost of the project is 793 million AMD, allocated by the Government.

The Prime Minister also familiarized himself with the progress of the major repair of the 12.8 km section of the T-7-53, H-21/ (New Life) - Panik - Arevshat - /H-21/ (Mets Mantash) road (from the village of New Life to Mets Mantash). The Government allocated 1 billion 525 million AMD for the project.

Within the framework of the regional visit, the Head of the Government got acquainted with the construction works of the kindergarten in Horom settlement. The total cost of the project is about 184 million AMD. The project is being implemented under the co-financing of the Government, the community and the World Bank. As a result of the implementation of the project, a kindergarten for 75 children will be built.

In the Akhuryan community, the works carried out by the private sector within the framework of the programs "Support for the development of sheep breeding and goat breeding in the Republic of Armenia", "Support for the leasing of agricultural equipment in the Republic of Armenia" were presented to the Prime Minister. Accordingly, the private investor received a loan of 30 million AMD with 0% interest for the construction of the cattle barn. The investor purchased 200 heads of French Blanche breed sheep under the sheep breeding and goat breeding development program. Agricultural machinery was also purchased under the agri-food sector equipment leasing program. The investor thanked the Prime Minister for initiating such programs by the Government and contributing to the development of the rural sector.

Nikol Pashinyan was also presented with the construction works of a kindergarten in Karnut, which were carried out in two stages. Within the framework of the subsidy program, 259 million AMD were invested, of which 181 million AMD were allocated by the Government. At the same time, 16 million AMD were allocated to the governor's office to purchase property and equipment for the kindergarten. As a result, a two-story kindergarten building with an area of 300 square meters was built. The new kindergarten is designed for 50 children. It was noted that no kindergarten has ever operated in Karnut.

Then, Nikol Pashinyan visited the care center for the elderly created by the "Albert Sevins" charity foundation, talked with the beneficiaries, got acquainted with the created conditions.

The Prime Minister familiarized himself with the major repair works of the road leading to the Marmashen monastery complex and improvement of the area. The total cost of the sub-project is about 677 million AMD. With the co-financing of the Government and the World Bank, the following works were carried out: asphalting of the road leading to the monastery complex and chapel, construction of sidewalks along the entire road, construction of alleys with basalt tiles in the territory of the monastery complex, construction of parking lots, construction of the alleyway leading to "Heghnar fountain" and improvement of the area. A water line was also built, and a new substation was installed. Stairs leading down from the Monastery to the Akhuryan River have been built, a fence was built along the river. Benches, trash cans, signs, information panels, a barrier were installed in the area, lighting of the area and other works were carried out.

The Head of the Government got acquainted with the construction process of the Berdashen secondary school building. The total cost of the project is 717 million AMD, allocated by the Government. The school is designed for 100 students.

In the Ashotsk settlement, Nikol Pashinyan got acquainted with the construction works of the park, which were carried out in 2 stages. The total cost of the works implemented under the subsidy program is 114 million AMD, of which 51 million was allocated by the Government. A park with an area of 3730 square meters was built in 2 stages, with lighting, fountains and greenery.

Within the framework of the visit, the Prime Minister was presented with the progress of the major repair of the 11.5 km section of the M-1, Yerevan-Gyumri-Armenian border (Bavra) interstate road (Ashotsk-Bavra road). The total cost of the project is 2 billion 305 million AMD. The Government allocated 1 billion 315 million AMD in 2023. Another 989 million AMD allocation is planned under state budget 2024.

Nikol Pashinyan also got acquainted with asphalting works leading to St. Astvatsatsin Church. The total cost of the works implemented in 2024 under the subsidy program is 26 million AMD, of which 12 million AMD was provided by the Government.

Within the framework of the working visit, the Prime Minister also familiarized himself with the construction works of the new sports complex "Arthur Aleksanyan Greco-Roman Wrestling School for Children and Youth" and the existing problems. The total cost of the project is about 6 billion 796 million AMD. As a result of the project, a new sports complex meeting international standards will be built, which includes sports building, as well as a swimming pool and a hotel building. The Prime Minister gave instructions to those responsible for solving existing problems, quality and timely implementation of construction works.

In Gyumri, Nikol Pashinyan got acquainted with the construction works of the new maternity facility at G. Nzhdeh Street, 3/6. The total cost of the project implemented by the private sector is around 650 million AMD.

In "Gyumri Medical Center" the Head of the Government was presented with a 1.5T MRI scanner, the cost of which is 1,200,000 euros. The additional cost of furnishing and running the service is 50 million AMD. The funds were provided by a private investor. It was noted that it is a one-of-a-kind high-field magnetic resonance device equipped with the latest generation of artificial intelligence tools and software (for studying neurology, oncology, musculoskeletal system, abdominal and pelvic organs).

Then, the Prime Minister was presented with the new public transport vehicles acquired for the needs of the Gyumri community.

At the end of the working visit to Shirak region, the Head of Government familiarized himself with the works carried out under the component "Rehabilitation of the park adjacent to St. Amenaprkich Church of Gyumri, Shirak region, and the right and left sections of adjacent Abovyan Street" of the sub-program "Reconstruction of Gyumri City Tourism Infrastructures and Roads". The total cost of the component is 1 billion 113 million AMD. The works were carried out with the co-financing of the Government and the World Bank. Under the project, tourism infrastructures are being improved in harmony with the general style of Gyumri city. Within the scope of the component of the sub-program, the following works are planned: reconstruction of 0.62 km of Abovyan Street, the park adjacent to the church, installation of new fountains, construction of an alleyway, improvement of sidewalks and the area of the monument, construction of engineering infrastructure, furnishing.
