Acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan today met with Armenia-accredited ambassadors and the heads of international organizations with diplomatic status.
Karen Karapetyan thanked the diplomats for accepting his invitation and attending the meeting. He expressed confidence that the ambassadors had closely followed the inner-political developments in Armenia, in close touch with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
The Acting Prime Minister also thanked all countries and international organizations that came up with balanced calls and messages aimed at easing the tensions and stabilizing the situation. Karen Karapetyan assured that Armenia will continue to honor its international commitments. The Acting Prime Minister also answered the questions of meeting participants.
“I would like to note that our country did everything to avoid violence, create an atmosphere of national solidarity and restore the normal course of public life.
I believe that this is the best evidence of Armenia’s democracy and maturity. I think Armenia has sent a clear indication to the world that it has established solid State institutions and developed democracy, and is moving forward steadily.
I want to highlight our police and security forces’ high professionalism, tolerance and good service during all these days. I also want to emphasize the role played by our bright youth. That youth is our future, and they will be a strong support in building the country of our dreams.
I wish to emphasize that Armenia will continue to adhere to all of its international commitments, and we will make the necessary effort to carry on the reforms and programs implemented with the support of our international partners.
All State institutions will keep working uninterruptedly in order to ensure the security and normal lives of Armenian citizens and guests, which is the most important indicator of Armenia’s statehood maturity. The Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia will continue to keep safe the borders of our country, as well as guarantee the security of Artsakh and its people.
I am confident that our international partners will continue to be vigilant so that Azerbaijan does not have illusions, does not resort to any adventure in an attempt to benefit from Armenia’s inner-political situation. This is a clear message to Azerbaijan. The stability and security of our region is in the best interest of both Armenia and the international community.
I would like to thank all those countries and international organizations that came up with balanced appeals and messages aimed at easing the tensions and stabilizing the situation.
You may be aware that negotiations are going to be held with Mr. Nikol Pashinyan in the near future. The agenda is open, with each side supposed to come up with proposals.
After all and irrespective of everything else, I want to emphasize once again that any solution to this situation should be civilized and logical, in tune with the Constitution and the laws, and I assure you that I will do everything in my power to reinstate solidarity and cohesion in our country, and let me make no secret of it, I expect the same from our partners,” Acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said.
