An extraordinary Cabinet meeting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Two issues were discussed at the meeting. The Executive established the subordination of subordinate bodies to ministries. According to Article 159 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, the system of public administration incorporates the ministries, as well as the bodies subordinated to the Government, the Prime Minister and the ministries. The reference note says that the subordinate entity implements specific activities within the terms of reference of the ministry.
First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan suggested amending the draft so that the State Property Management Committee would be subordinated to the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments instead of the Ministry of Finance. The proposal was endorsed.
The Government also adopted a model form of statutes of public administration entities. Accordingly, the statutes of bodies affiliated to the Government, the Prime Minister and ministries were established.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan instructed the Cabinet members to submit the final versions of their agencies’ statutes within ten days.
