PM receives delegation of Secretariat of International Organization of La Francophonie

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Jean-Louis Atangana Amougou, Director of the Office of Secretary-General of International Organization of La Francophonie (IOF) and Hervé Ladsous, Special Adviser to IOF Secretary-General.
The Premier stressed the importance of holding the 17th summit of La Francophonie in Armenia and noted that well above evidencing our country’s close partnership with the Francophone countries; it also implies great trust in Armenia’s authorities. The Prime Minister assured that his government will make every effort to hold the summit at the highest level. The Head of Government specifically highlighted the economic forum to be held on the margins of the summit, hoping that it will foster economic activity in Armenia.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that our country boasts good French language teaching traditions and expressed conviction that the IOF summit will give new impetus to the teaching of French language among the Armenians.
On behalf of the IOF Secretary-General, Jean-Louis Atangana Amougou congratulated Nikol Pashinyan on being elected Prime Minister of Armenia and expressed satisfaction with the nature and content of the power change. He emphasized that the April-May developments in Armenia were closely followed in Francophone countries and went on to note that Armenia has became an exemplary country in this respect.
“Mrs. Secretary-General asked me to convey to you that she trusts you and the Government of Armenia as regards the proper organization of the Francophonie summit. We are confident that the event will be held at the highest level,” Jean-Louis Atangana Amougou concluded.
During the meeting the interlocutors discussed a number of organizational issues related to the upcoming summit.
