Today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Bridget Brink, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs.

Highlighting the furtherance of bilateral relations with the United States, the Prime Minister said the Armenian government keen to develop cooperation in all spheres: political and economic interactions, democracy, human rights, etc. Nikol Pashinyan stressed that the fight against corruption, the ongoing public administration and legal reforms are seen as top priorities by the new Armenian leadership.

Congratulating Nikol Pashinyan on being elected as Prime Minister of Armenia, Bridget Brink offered her best greetings and wishes on the 100th Anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia. Mrs. Brink said at this historical period for Armenia, the United States is ready to take steps to deepen and further develop partnership with Armenia.

“The United States has always been and will remain a reliable partner for the government and the people of Armenia. Welcoming your commitment to fight corruption, we will support your government’s efforts aimed at setting equal rules of game for the benefit of both the Armenian people and American investors,” she said.

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process was also on the agenda of the meeting. The Armenian Premier appreciated the efforts being made by the United States jointly with Russia and France as OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. Nikol Pashinyan highlighted Armenia’s commitment to achieve an exclusively peaceful settlement for the conflict and build an atmosphere of peace and cooperation.

The parties took the opportunity to look at ways of boosting U.S. investments in Armenia, promoting trade exchanges and enhancing the political dialogue between the two countries.
