Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Igor Popov (Russia), Andrew Schofer (USA), Stéphane Visconti (France), and Personal Representative of OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
Highly appreciative of the role played by the co-chairs in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process, the Premier expressed confidence that effective cooperation would be established with his government.
The co-chairs congratulated Nikol Pashinyan on his election as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, assuring that they would make every effort to reach a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The meeting participants highlighted the conflicting sides’ adherence to their commitments assumed with a view to achieving a peaceful settlement, as well as the need to honor the agreements reached during the summits held in Vienna, St. Petersburg and Geneva. The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs briefed the Prime Minister on their future work plan.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to pursue a negotiated settlement plan in cooperation with the co-chairs.
The interlocutors next discussed the steps aimed at creating an appropriate atmosphere for the conduct of negotiations and, in this context, touched upon the situation in the conflict zone.
