RA Prime Minister, Veolia Vice President discuss ways of enhancing efficiency of French company’s activities in Armenia

21.06.2018

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Malika Genduri, Deputy CEO of Veolia for Central and Eastern Europe.

Appreciating Veolia’s activities in our country, the Premier expressed the hope that the Armenian government and the Company will establish close cooperation in a bid to implement a more effective water management policy. Nikol Pashinyan stressed the need for taking consistent steps toward reducing water losses, which will help the Company to pursue a more efficacious tariff policy.

Malika Genduri expressed confidence that after the recent changes, the new government of Armenia will be committed to mutually beneficial cooperation that will help improve the quality of services provided by Veolia Jur, which in turn will be able to comply with its commitments. Veolia’s Vice President underscored that in close cooperation with the Government of Armenia they will find solutions to all problems.

Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that the amount debt for water consumed in the governmental mansions located on the territory of Kond Residential Estate SNCO has reached the mark of 54 million drams, adding that he had already instructed to pay it. In this context, Nikol Pashinyan told the company to be consistent in all such cases and raise the efficiency of their activities, and went on to note that Veolia should focus not only on the needs of vulnerable groups, but also on the shortfalls of solvable, but non-scrupulous consumers.

“We are keen to see Veolia make more investments and get better returns in our country. I assure you that you will never come across with Prime Minister’s interests during the term of my government, but will only have to defend the interests of our citizens,” Nikol Pashinyan said and suggested establishing a joint working group to discuss all outstanding issues and submit proposals for their solution.
