Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended a festive event dedicated to Emergency Worker’s Day at the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Congratulating the Ministry staff on their professional holiday, the Prime Minister wished them as less work pressure as possible and maximum well-being. Nikol Pashinyan noted that the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations play an important role in the public life of our country.

“It is important for our citizens to know that there is a rescue service, a system of emergency situations that meets the standards of high professionalism. Any uniformed person in the new Armenia - policemen, soldiers, emergency workers - should be treated as a relative by our citizens just because close relatives are the first to come to aid in danger, crisis and emergency situations. I hope that owing to our joint efforts, the feeling of kinship for you will grow among our citizens,” the Prime Minister pointed out, adding that no uniformed person is supposed to get involved in political activities. “No one should be involved in any political activity, jeopardizing or shadowing thereby the citizens’ respect for the uniform.

The Premier noted that he was well aware of the problems faced in the field of emergency situations and in the system of public administration, in general, such as low salaries, the reason for which is inefficient management and mismanagement of public funds in many cases.

What is the right sequence of our steps? We should not first live well, and then think about the effective management of our State, public funds; on the contrary, first we must work hard in order to increase our efficiency and responsibility, after which the welfare of each of us will increase inevitably. We need to consolidate our forces as it is impossible to achieve breakthrough development in a single sphere, in a single ministry. Development should be inclusive. comprehensive and future-oriented,” the Prime Minister said.

The Premier expressed hope that the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will support the reforms and the will expressed by the citizens in the Republic Square.

“The citizens’ will is about the following: Armenia’s citizens and the Armenians should live in a free, happy, developed, powerful and prosperous Armenia. Everyone has something to do about it, starting with the Prime Minister and the rescue service staff. We need to back each other not for the sake of survival, but in order to raise our country to a new level of development, happiness, freedom and legality,” the Prime Minister said, thanking all employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for dedicated work.

Then the Head of Government attended the ceremonious parade staged by the structural units of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia and demo drills presented by the special rescue squad of the Ministry for Emergency Situations. The Prime Minister was briefed on special technical equipment’s capabilities and the purpose of their application.
