Today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Head of International Monetary Fund (IMF) Armenia Mission Hossein Samiei.
The Premier stressed the importance of the ongoing effective cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and the support provided by the IMF to economic reforms. Nikol Pashinyan underscored that one of his government’s priorities is to implement tax reforms in a bid to simplify tax policy, improve the business environment and attract investment. The Prime Minister noted that the government’s goal is to operate such structural changes as will push the high-tech industry and the IT sector to the forefront of the economy.
The IMF Mission Head expressed confidence that the joint efforts would contribute to the success of economic reforms in Armenia. Hossein Samiei assured that the IMF will continue to assist the government in promoting the planned reforms.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views over a number of other issues on the agenda of bilateral cooperation.
