Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Sos Sargsyan Hamazgayin Theater’s new building.
The event took place later than expected, because seeing the garbage around the new theater building, the Premier said he could not join the inauguration ceremony under such circumstances and started to clean the rubbish personally. Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, actors and builders joined the Prime Minister.
“Everything needs to be neat and tidy: it is impossible to hold a ceremonious event in garbage. We should not pay homage to Sos Sargsyan in garbage; there is the form, not the content,” Nikol Pashinyan said. He pointed out that the revolution is not a mere change of prime minister; it implies a change in people’s behavior and, seeing garbage, the citizens should take it away.
It was not until the garbage had been cleaned up around the new theater building that the Prime Minister joined the inauguration ceremony. Prime Minister Pashinyan, his spouse Anna Hakobyan and their daughters then went away to take part in the nationwide cleanup campaign.
