Accompanied by his spouse Anna Hakobyan and his daughters, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended a Gegharkunik Marz administration-hosted fish festival on the Sevan Peninsula.
Fish dishes were presented; tasting, sales and competitive programs were held in different categories during the festival. The events were accompanied by national songs, dances and other cultural performances.
The Premier welcomed the festival and expressed confidence that it will contribute to the development and promotion of tourism in the areas adjacent to Lake Sevan. He was pleased that the festival culture is developing in Armenia. “This has two important meanings. First of all, the mood is changing in the country. We should not miss any opportunity to make our daily life more joyful and energetic. Secondly, such events are important for the development of Armenia’s economy, as they develop tourism, restaurant business and, perhaps, attract more attention to the problems that we have in and around Sevan,” the Prime Minister noted.
Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed the hope that the Government and our compatriots doing business by Lake Sevan would be able to rally their ideas over Sevan’s development. “There are exciting and serious projects regarding Sevan. We must develop them so that everything is carried out in a spirit of cooperation between business and government,” the Head of Government said.
Speaking about Lake Sevan, Nikol Pashinyan pointed out that the water level was 3 centimeters up as compared to last year, and the water resources had increased by more than 900 million cubic meters this year.
Nikol Pashinyan invited everyone to take part in the Eco Fish Fest, which will be on until 20:00 today, and will be crowned by fireworks.
Note that cleanup activities had been carried out on Lake Sevan’s coastal area before the start of the festival.
