Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Armenia Inga Stanytė-Toločkiėnė.
Congratulating the Lithuanian diplomat on assumption of office, the Prime Minister said Armenia and Lithuania are engaged in productive political dialogue, which provides a solid basis for developing economic relations. The head of the Armenian government described as highly promising the possibilities of cooperation in tourism, IT, agriculture, highlighting the launch of direct air communications as a means of boosting investment ties. The Premier stressed that there are favorable opportunities in Armenia in this regard.
With reference to EU-Armenia partnership ties, Nikol Pashinyan thanked the Lithuanian Parliament for ratifying the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Thankful for the reception, the Lithuanian Ambassador said she was honored to exercise in Armenia in this important period of major transformations and contribute to the development of bilateral ties. She emphasized that the Armenian government and the Armenian people deserve encouragement from the EU and its member States, and Lithuania is ready to support Armenia’s development agenda, promote the EU-Armenia partnership and share its long experience of democratic reform.
The interlocutors took the opportunity to discuss the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process.
