Commission for Coordination of Anti-Pandemic Action Holds Regular Meeting

Chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Commission for Coordination of Anti-Pandemic Action met today in the Office of Government.

Minister of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan gave updated statistics of confirmed infections in Armenia. He reported on the dynamics and health status of those infected. Deputy Prime Minister, Emergency Situations Commandant Tigran Avinyan touched upon the steps taken as part of the Government’s anti-pandemic policy. He noted that the proposed IT tools, including the system of geo-location has proved quite efficient as it allows better control over the chains of coronavirus spreading.

On April 8, 120 artificial lung ventilation devices, 2 oxygen supply stations, 60 thousand tests, 60 thousand medical masks, 280 thousand protective masks, 20 thousand goggles and 100,000 pieces of protective clothing and medicaments were delivered by special flight from China for the needs of Armenia’s healthcare system.

Tigran Avinyan advised that the system will be replenished with 100,000 more tests and protective equipment over the next couple of days that will expand the range and power of testing.

Further steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection were discussed at the meeting. Issues related to the organization of work in other spheres of economic, social, educational, cultural and public life were discussed. Management of epidemiological problems, movement and restrictions of economic activity, control mechanisms and a number of other issues were discussed at the meeting.
