The draft economic response program with a preliminary action plan was discussed in the Office of the Government, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The draft refers to Paragraphs 9 and 10 of the roadmap published by the Prime Minister on November 18, 2020. Paragraph 9 deals with the coronavirus response activities, while Paragraph 10 seeks to reinvigorate the economic environment.
The Premier noted that the government makes decisions on a weekly basis related to the implementation of the roadmap published on November 18. “We made another decision at today’s Cabinet meeting. Today we must discuss a draft action plan through which we will restore the environment of economic activity, set ourselves new economic tasks and tackle them. We will have a preliminary discussion today. I hope that as a result of discussions within a week we will have time to formulate a program at a government meeting as a decision of the government, to fix it and start its implementation,” the Prime Minister said.
The program provides for purposeful, significant and visible actions aimed at stimulating economic activity. It was developed taking into account the emerging challenges and problems.
The activities and the steps envisaged by the action plan were discussed in detail during the meeting. Various suggestions and comments were voiced on the part of meeting participants.
Summing up the results, the Premier instructed those responsible for program implementation to finalize the draft, based on the proposals formulated at the meeting, and submit it to the government for approval.
