Within the framework of his working visit to Vanadzor, Lori Province, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan got acquainted with the works carried out in Vanadzor's Aksel Bakunts N 7 basic school. The Prime Minister toured the newly built building, got acquainted with the work done, the conditions created for the schoolchildren and teachers.

The Prime Minister was informed that due to the numerous damages caused by the earthquake, the former school building was recognized as dilapidated and was dismantled. Before the new building would be put into operation, the studies were carried out in the three-storey administrative building of the "Technosark" factory.

The construction of the new building on the territory of the dismantled school was carried out within the framework of the "Seismic Safety Improvement Program" implemented by the Government of the Republic of Armenia in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank, which meets international standards and will serve as a shelter for the population in case of natural disasters. According to the officials, an overpass was built near the school to organize the safe movement of the students.

The educational institution has been equipped with modern equipment and technical means. It is designed for 430 students. Currently the number of students is 312. This two-storey construction (with a total area of 3857 square meters) consists of three buildings connected by seismic joints.

The Prime Minister also visited the Lori Regional Library, where the LOFT Innovation Center has been opened. The program was implemented within the framework of the Government decision on "Youth self-development in the regions of Armenia, social entrepreneurship, provision of cultural and entertainment environments, establishment of innovation centers."

According to officials in charge, the “Program on establishment of self-development, cultural-entertaining, innovative center in Vanadzor, Lori’s regional center” by "LOFT" Education, Culture and Youth Development All-Armenian NGO is aimed at strengthening the functional capacity of the regional library, modernizing the library as a single platform of cultural, educational and social activity.

Presenting the details of the program, it was emphasized that all possible technical and technological means will be used so that the center will best serve the youth of the region and the regional center, strengthen the connection between the region and the capital and expand the possible intercultural influences.

During the working visit, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan, MPs Aren Mkrtchyan, Arpi Davoyan, Lori Governor Aram Khachatryan and other officials.
