Chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, performance report 2022 of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs continued.
Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan, Head of the State Supervision Service Romanos Petrosyan, Deputy Minister of Finance Vahan Sirunyan, officials from the Prime Minister's Office, the leadership of the Ministry, other officials participated in the consultation.
First, the progress of the work carried out in the direction of the introduction of the new formula of the vulnerability assessment system was presented. It was noted that it will be a digital system, taking into account the international experience, it will be aimed at overcoming extreme poverty in the country. In this context, the expansion of opportunities for obtaining transparent information about beneficiary citizens was emphasized.
Next, reference was made to the effectiveness of the programs aimed at overcoming poverty. It was reported that 298 families were involved in training and business programs during the previous year.
Current and upcoming works in the field of social housing construction, increasing the efficiency of social package programs, and employment were discussed. It was reported that there are 144 social housing units in the country, of which 21 are currently vacant. The beneficiaries of the latter are representatives of vulnerable groups.
Prime Minister Pashinyan considers it necessary to make the programs more flexible among the beneficiaries of social housing, which will push people to develop their abilities.
The officials in charge informed that currently, in total, 602 children live in orphanages, of which 510 are disabled. 127 people need palliative care, 209 people are over 18 years old, and another 105 children live in foster care. Nikol Pashinyan instructed to consistently continue the works of education, capacity development, and quality of care services for children living in orphanages. "Their goal is to ensure certain skills and basic education when someone leaves the orphanage, so that he has the opportunity to lead an independent life in the future," said the Prime Minister. Those in charge noted that the needs of all the above 602 children were individually assessed.
Reference was also made to the work carried out to identify cases of domestic violence, the improvement of the activities of the territorial centers of the Unified Social Services through digitization, and other issues.
