A regular Cabinet meeting took place today, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The Government approved the Employment Promotion measure, which aims to increase employment opportunities for unemployed persons from families receiving family or social allowances, including persons with disabilities. Accordingly, it is proposed to provide support to employers in the case of employment of unemployed persons from families receiving family or social allowances, in the partial amount of income tax calculated and paid from the salary of the employed person, while the amount and the duration of the support are conditioned by the age, gender, the factor of having or not having a child, as well as disability status of the employed person. In case of employment of a person with 1st or 2nd category of disability or with a deep or severe limitation of functionality, it is proposed to provide one-time support to the employer for the compensation of costs incurred for reasonable adaptation provided by the law of the Republic of Armenia "On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities". It’s offered to provide support to those employers who are not a body of the public administration system that provides public service, have continuously had at least 10 hired employees during the last three months, and within the framework of the program, sign an employment contract with the unemployed person who, before being employed under this measure, has not been a tax-paying employee in the last three months and has not been in employment relations with the given employer in the last six months.
The Government adopted a decision to simplify the processes of border crossing, customs transit, customs formalities and declaration of goods. As a result, queues at Armenia’s border crossing points will decrease.
The Government allocated 2,387,497.6 thousand AMD to the regional administrations of Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk, Syunik, Vayots Dzor and Tavush Provinces for the implementation of subsidy programs.
As noted by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan, the decision envisages co-financing of 27 subsidy programs for 2021 and 2022.
