Prime Minister Pashinyan hosts the President of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted the President of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay, Ana Olivera, and the Vice-President of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay, Pedro Khisdonyan, who are on an official visit to Armenia.

The Prime Minister welcomed the visit of the leadership of the legislature of Uruguay to Armenia and emphasized the fact of warm and friendly relations between the two countries. Nikol Pashinyan noted that Uruguay has always stood by Armenia and the Armenian people in difficult situations, and our country attaches importance to the development and strengthening of cooperation in various fields with Uruguay. According to the Prime Minister, the high-level mutual visits of the last years testify to the bilateral political will to expand cooperation. Nikol Pashinyan stressed the necessity of developing inter-parliamentary cooperation on international platforms, as well as the deepening of ties in the fields of economy, tourism, culture and sports.

Ana Olivera expressed her gratitude for the warm hospitality, adding that Uruguay, as in the past, continues to show its solidarity and support for Armenia and the Armenian people. The President of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay emphasized the importance of developing relations with friendly Armenia in different directions, adding that the parliamentary cooperation is at a high level.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to the Armenia-Uruguay cooperation agenda.

Reference was made to the discussions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty, the Armenian Government's program for providing housing for forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh, and other issues of mutual interest.
