Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the art cluster of the "Academic City" project to the students and teaching staff of Yerevan State Theatre and Film Institute, Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, and representatives of scientific research institutes in the field.

Nikol Pashinyan first presented the idea of "Academic City", the connection of the project with the Tamanian project. According to the Prime Minister, it is very important to understand that initially the small center of the city of Yerevan, if not de jure, then de facto, was formed as an Academic City, but over time, the logic of the city of Yerevan changed a little. "It is very important to record that the scientific and educational environment was lost during and in the context of these changes. What has happened to the scientific and educational environment, what was originally planned as a whole, has become fragmented," said Nikol Pashinyan. In this context, the Head of the Government also noted that the "Academic City" does not refer only to the change of buildings and logistics, but also to the change of the pace of the educational environment.

Continuing, Nikol Pashinyan noted that a goal is set to double the number of foreign students in the Republic of Armenia, to have four universities in the top 500 in four international rankings, and to provide a modern environment for higher education and science development. In this context, the Prime Minister also spoke about the importance of public education, the need for research in parallel with education, the provision of sports activities that contribute to a healthy lifestyle, the creation of cultural centers and, in general, the creation of all infrastructures necessary for human development, which are included in the concept of "Academic City".

"In order to bring this project to life, it is very important that it becomes a project for students and professors, because the Government, yes, has to fulfill its role as a leader, but the beneficiaries are the students and professors," the Prime Minister noted and added that the idea of the "Academic City" arose when a question arose whether the Government of the Republic of Armenia is funding education sufficiently, and as a result of the negative answer, the Government set a task of making the funding more specific and targeted.

According to Nikol Pashinyan, it is planned to build a new national stadium in accordance with international standards in the "Academic City", provide a railway and circular railway traffic.

Referring to the art cluster, the Prime Minister noted that it will unite universities in the field of art and, first of all, will provide an environment for creativity. Nikol Pashinyan especially emphasized that it is planned to build a hall in the cultural cluster, which will be intended for both movie viewings and operas, will serve as both a concert hall and an exhibition hall. "The whole idea of the "Academic City" is that the student of the University of Arts in the art cluster has the opportunity to commercialize what he has learned," the Prime Minister noted and added. "The key idea of "Academic City" is just that: to learn and realize what you have learned, to sell what you have learned."

After that, Nikol Pashinyan answered the questions of the audience.

Ian Storey, Director of Global Engagement, University of the Arts London presented the activities of the university, the created educational conditions and opportunities, and the educational environment.
