Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted the delegation led by Polish President Andrzej Duda, who is on an official visit to Armenia.
In his welcoming speech, Prime Minister Pashinyan noted: “Dear Mr. President, I welcome you and your delegation to the Republic of Armenia. I attach great importance to this visit in terms of promoting the further development of relations between Armenia and Poland, and I believe that there is really a great potential for the development of relations, which, unfortunately, I cannot say that has been largely used. Of course, we have had opportunities to meet and talk on various platforms, and I am glad for this meeting that will give us the opportunity to continue our conversation. I welcome you again.”
In his speech, the Polish President noted: “Dear Mr. Prime Minister, dear colleagues, first of all, I am glad that an opportunity emerged to carry out my official visit to Armenia. I would like to express my deep gratitude to you, Mr. Prime Minister, as well as to the President of Armenia for such an attitude, for creating such friendly and good relations between our peoples and states. Why do I emphasize this speciafically? Because I have been the President of Poland for 9.5 years and I must note that our relations have not been like this before. This is extremely important to me.”
The interlocutors attached importance to the continuous development and expansion of cooperation between Armenia and Poland in the political, economic, tourism, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The parties emphasized the need to take consistent steps to promote trade and economic ties. In this context, Nikol Pashinyan and Andrzej Duda emphasized the activation of intergovernmental cooperation and high-level mutual visits.
Issues related to Armenia-European Union cooperation were discussed. The Polish President expressed his country's support for Armenia expanding relations with the EU and implementing democratic reforms, as well as welcomed the launch of the visa liberalization dialogue with Armenia.
Prime Minister Pashinyan presented to Andrzej Duda the latest developments in the discussions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty and the firm positions of the Armenian side. The Prime Minister emphasized Armenia's commitment to the peace agenda.
