The draft of the Employment Strategic Plan discussed under the leadership of the Prime Minister

A consultation was held under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which the draft Employment Strategic Plan for 2025-2031 was discussed.
It was noted that as a result of the previous consultation, based on the Prime Minister's instructions, the draft was revised and improved several times during working discussions organized by both the parliament and the executive body. The challenges, principles, vision and expected results of the strategy were discussed.
It was noted that the current challenges relate to the high dependency ratio, the concentration of economic activity in Yerevan, etc. It was presented that the main principles of the strategy are to address the synchronization of supply and demand in the labor market, the parallel growth of employment and productivity, the promotion of exports, the growth of foreign direct investment, and the change in the public's perception of work. Referring to the vision of the strategy, it was noted that it is aimed at ensuring employment growth through the formation of a competitive and employable workforce and the expansion of high-productivity work opportunities.
As for the action plan, according to those responsible, it will be aimed at ensuring the connection between different strategic levels, as well as the effectiveness of continuous monitoring and evaluation of results. Regarding the expected results, reference was made to the growth of the labor resource by 2031, changes in the employment structure, the growth of employment in regional cities, etc.
An exchange of ideas took place around the draft, the participants of the meeting presented their observations and suggestions on individual points of the strategy, which related to formal and non-formal employment, increasing productivity and competitiveness, the connection between education and the labor market, etc.
In this context, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of combining strategies in different directions and instructed those responsible to finalize the draft strategy based on the results of the discussion and submit it to the Government for approval.
