The process of implementing the measures envisaged by the Anti-Corruption Strategy was discussed under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan reported on the work carried out in order to achieve the goals of the strategy: strengthening corruption prevention and integrity systems, improving legal and institutional systems for combating corruption, improving anti-corruption education and public awareness mechanisms, and improving the anti-corruption monitoring and evaluation system.
Providing details on the measures implemented under the Anti-Corruption Strategy, it was reported that current integrity checking mechanisms have been introduced for judges, prosecutors, and investigators.
The corruption prevention indicators in international reports were referred to. It was emphasized that there has been positive progress over the past period, but it is necessary to take consistent steps to improve the current mechanisms and structures.
The participants of the discussion exchanged ideas on the problems in the judicial and legal sphere and the systemic changes being implemented to overcome them.
Referring to the report, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of accountability in the three main directions of the anti-corruption strategy: corruption prevention, detection of corruption-related crimes, and anti-corruption education and public awareness. Nikol Pashinyan instructed to prepare a corresponding report in these three directions, which will be discussed at the Anti-Corruption Policy Council.
