The third session of the Council for the Development of Science and Technology of Armenia under the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Deputy President of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Council’s Executive Committee Hakob Arshakyan presented the work carried out based on the results of the previous session. Five directions were outlined: Artificial intelligence, robotics, aerospace technologies, microelectronics, semiconductors, quantum technologies, biotechnology, life Ssiences. Hakob Arshakyan emphasized that tools are needed to develop strategic programs in the outlined directions and have a mechanism for complying them with state procedures. Accordingly, the working group has developed and put into circulation the concept of the Armenian Innovation Foundation.

During the session, the statutory objectives of the foundation, as well as its functions and management procedure, were discussed. The state-private proportion and format of the foundation’s management board, the foundation’s work and reporting mechanisms were discussed. An exchange of views was held on the issues presented, and various observations and recommendations were presented.

Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the effective organization of the foundation’s work and, in this context, emphasized the need for intensive cooperation between stakeholders.
