Nikol Pashinyan and Filip Ivanović discuss issues aimed at further development of Armenia-Montenegro relations

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović.

The Prime Minister welcomed the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro to Armenia and expressed confidence that it will give a new impetus to the further development of bilateral relations. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the Government of Armenia is interested in activating cooperation with Montenegro in political, economic and other areas.

Filip Ivanović conveyed to Nikol Pashinyan the warm greetings of the Prime Minister of Montenegro and emphasized the consistent development of relations with Armenia. The Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro added that the purpose of his visit to Armenia is to discuss opportunities for promoting bilateral cooperation and further steps.

In this context, the parties discussed the expansion of trade and economic ties, cooperation in education and tourism. Both sides emphasized the importance of increasing the number of air flights, which will contribute to increasing human contacts and deepening business ties. The sides also exchanged views on promoting cooperation between the capitals of Yerevan and Podgorica.

Nikol Pashinyan and Filip Ivanović discussed issues of regional importance. In particular, they referred to the fact of reaching an agreement on of the draft agreement “On the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan”. Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the commitment of the Armenian Government to the peace agenda. In turn, Filip Ivanović expressed Montenegro’s support for efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.
