Today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the ceremony of seeing police officers off for borderline service. Addressing the police officers, the Premier stated in part, “Dear friends, dear police officers, today is a crucial day for the Police of the Republic of Armenia: new relationship is being established between the Police of the Republic of Armenia and the citizens of Armenia. The police troops are assuming a very important mission, namely to assist the army of the Republic of Armenia in the protection of Armenia’s State borders.
I believe it to be a landmark event not only for the police troops, but also for the police force in general, since I reckon that the citizens of the Republic of Armenia should see a friend and a kinsman in every person dressed in police uniform. As strange as it may seem, but friend is anyone to whom the citizen turns in trouble, in a difficult situation. And our task is to ensure that the citizens of the Republic of Armenia perceive the police as such, and the police protect their compatriots and the country’s safety, enforce the constitutional order and legality.
What we see today will first of all promote such a perception of the police and police troops. I would like to thank the police staff, those officers who have assumed this responsibility willingly and with pride. I would like to thank the whole police system for their service readiness, for this patriotic step, for courage, and I am confident that the police officers will live up to the task and will be back home with pride and a strong feeling of dignity after each duty. I would also like to thank the members of your families - your wives, your parents and children – who love you for sure and see you off to the borderline with pride.
Dear friends, dear brothers, I wish you peaceful and victorious service, and I am convinced that you will accomplish it with honor.
So, long live the Republic of Armenia! Long live the Armenian Armed Forces! Long live the Armenian Police and long live the Armenian people!”
