Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan introduced the newly appointed minister Arpine Sargsyan to the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Nikol Pashinyan thanked Vahe Ghazaryan for his work and contribution as the Minister of Internal Affairs. "I must record that Mr. Ghazaryan's role in the initiation and successful course of the Police reforms is undeniable. As a matter of fact, he, being a long-time Police officer, made a very direct and significant contribution to the process of the Police reforms and later also to the formation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. I should also note that Mr. Ghazaryan's tenure coincided with a very difficult period. he was appointed as the Chief of Police during the covid epidemic, then the war period, the difficult situations that followed. And the work done by him during this period is of course highly appreciated," the Prime Minister added that, in general, during this difficult period, the Police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, under the leadership of Vahe Ghazaryan, were able to maintain the legal order in Armenia. "At the same time, a very extensive reform process has taken place. In fact, during the existence of our republic, perhaps the biggest investments have been made in the system of the Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In fact, since the beginning of the 90s, the biggest, most extensive change has taken place. And I thank Mr. Ghazaryan for leading all those works," the Prime Minister summed up his speech.

Next, Nikol Pashinyan introduced the newly appointed Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan. According to the Prime Minister, Arpine Sargsyan also has a very significant contribution to the reform of the Police and the formation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. "When she was still the Deputy Minister of Justice, in fact, she had a great contribution and participation in the substantive part of the reforms. She held the position of Deputy Minister from the very first day of the formation of the Ministry, and during this period, of course, she was one of the active participants in this process, she is a person who, in fact, has a full understanding of the content", said the Prime Minister.

Nikol Pashinyan wished success on the occasion of assuming this responsible position and expressed hope that the Police, the Rescue Service, other departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be involved in the reform process at the same pace and with the same enthusiasm.

Vahe Ghazaryan, for his part, expressed deep gratitude to the Prime Minister for his trust, for appointing him to the positions of Chief of Police and Minister of Internal Affairs. "I want to congratulate Ms. Sargsyan on her appointment to this position and thank the entire staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their unconditional dedication to serving the Republic of Armenia during my tenure," Vahe Ghazaryan said.

Arpine Sargsyan also thanked the Prime Minister for the trust and noted that the experience she has in the system and the results of the massive work carried out under the leadership of Vahe Ghazaryan will allow to work effectively and record new achievements in the field of internal security for the benefit of the Republic of Armenia, maintaining the principles adopted by the Government and the spirit behind those principles. "These three services, which operate under the ministry's authority, have perhaps the greatest sphere of influence in contact with the public, and therefore, from the point of view of public trust, the expectation of the public is much more tangible, much more visible. We must note that over the past two years, we have had an increase in public trust towards the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and I want to express my belief that the professional team of the Ministry, led by me, of course, Mr. Prime Minister, with your support and trust, will continue to take consistent steps to increase this trust, to guarantee an even higher level of public security for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia. Under your leadership, the Ministry has gone through a difficult and challenging phase, and I am sure that with your trust, we will continue to record new achievements", said Arpine Sargsyan.
