Condolence Message by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Passing of Armen Jigarkhanyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a condolence message on the demise of renowned actor, People’s Artist of the USSR Armen Jigarkhanyan. The message reads:
“The famous Armenian, intellectual and beloved by all of us Armen Jigarkhanyan is no longer with us. I remember with warmth last year’s meeting with the famous actor in his apartment in Moscow, during which he told me about his desire to visit the homeland. Unfortunately, his health condition prevented him from doing that.
Armen Jigarkhanyan enjoyed great love and popularity not only among Armenians, but also among other nations, and we are proud that he was our fellow countryman.
With his roles played in the films “Hello, It’s Me,” “New Adventures of the Elusive,” “Dog in the Manger,” “When September Comes,” “Tehran-43,” “Bride from the North” and many other famous films and performances, he will remain in our history forever as an exceptional image of an intellectual and an Armenian.
I share the sorrow of the great master’s family, colleagues, and fans at this moment of great loss.”
