His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, sent a congratulatory message to Nikol Pashinyan on appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

The message particularly runs as follows,

''Honorable Mr. Prime Minister,

On the occasion of your appointment to the responsible post of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia based on the results of the extraordinary parliamentary elections, we send you our wishes for effective work.

The situation in the life of our people and around Armenia following the 44-day war makes it imperative to ensure the security of the borders, of the Republic of Armenia clarify the status of Artsakh, and solve socio-economic problems in our homeland. The God-pleasing way of overcoming the existing challenges and building a secure and prosperous life in the homeland is to defuse internal political tensions and establish an atmosphere of solidarity and unity at the national level.

True to its mission, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church will continue supporting the development of our statehood, devoting its potential to increasing the productivity of Motherland-Diaspora ties, strengthening of the national identity of our people around the world, and the progress of the spiritual life.
