President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi sent a congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia. The message reads as follows,

"Your Excellency,

I heartily congratulate you on the anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia and the National Day.

I hope that the bilateral relations, that have been on the path of development and prosperity since the independence of Armenia, will expand in all areas in the light of the strong will of the leaders and peoples of the two countries.

Within the framework of the neighborhood policy, the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches special importance to relations with the countries of the Caucasus region, including friendly Armenia, and using the opportunities of the common historical border with that country, is ready to deepen comprehensive relations based on mutual interests.

Once again emphasizing the firm approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of neighboring countries, I would like to emphasize the importance of continuous consultations on issues of bilateral interest.

I ask the Almighty Lord for health and success for Your Excellency, and prosperity for the people of the Republic of Armenia."
