Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his wife Anna Hakobyan left for Munich on a working visit on February 16-18.

The Prime Minister will participate in the official opening ceremony of the Munich Security Conference. Within the framework of the conference, Nikol Pashinyan will have a series of bilateral meetings with foreign partners.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated in the opening ceremony of the Munich Security Conference.

The Munich Security Conference is attended by dozens of presidents, heads of government and foreign ministers, as well as UN Secretary General António Guterres, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid and others.

Within the framework of the conference, a number of bilateral meetings of Prime Minister Pashinyan are scheduled.

Within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a meeting with Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti.

The parties exchanged ideas on the current situation and ongoing processes in the South Caucasus region and the Balkans, security and stability.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo expressed his support to the Armenian people in the context of the developments of the recent years, noting that both nations historically have been going through a difficult period.

At the meeting, the multi-sectoral cooperation, as well as the prospects of cooperation on international platforms were discussed.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met Michael Punke and Max Peterson, vice presidents of Amazon Web Services, in Munich.

Issues related to the cooperation between the Armenian Government and Amazon Web Services, implementation of joint programs were discussed.

The representatives of the company emphasized their willingness to develop and further strengthen the cooperation with Armenia and added that they are in the stage of discussions and dialogue with the Ministry of High-tech Industry.

In particular, during the meeting, reference was made to the implementation of programs in the field of digitization and the future joint works planned in this direction.

Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized that digitization works are among the priorities of the Armenian government and emphasized the importance of close cooperation in this direction.

Prime Minister Pashinyan also participated in "Digital trust and government continuity. Cloud computing in the era of shifting geopolitics” round table discussion, which was held behind closed doors. The event was organized by Amazon Web Services and the Munich Security Conference.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renaud-Basso within the framework of the Munich Security Forum.

The Prime Minister highlighted the decision to hold the EBRD annual meeting in Yerevan this May and expressed confidence that it will be held at a high level.

Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the close and effective cooperation formed between the Armenian government and the EBRD, as a result of which many programs are being implemented in different fields in our country. According to the Prime Minister, this cooperation also contributed to the stability and development of the economy of Armenia.

The EBRD President also expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the Armenian government and added that the joint programs are continuously expanding.

Mrs. Basso emphasized the implementation of projects in infrastructure development, road construction, private sector and other directions and noted that EBRD is ready to expand bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed various issues related to further cooperation.

The meeting of the Prime Ministers of Armenia and Iraq Nikol Pashinyan and Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani took place in Munich.

The interlocutors emphasized Armenia-Iraq multi-sectoral cooperation and the consistent implementation of the agreements reached. In that regard, the sides emphasized the importance of Iraqi president's visit to Armenia last year and the upcoming visit of the Armenian president to Iraq.

The Prime Ministers exchanged ideas on issues of regional importance, as well as other topics of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration.

Issues related to cooperation between the Armenian government and the International Organization for Migration were discussed.

The Prime Minister referred to the reforms implemented in the field of migration in our country, including the steps towards digitization. Nikol Pashinyan presented the Armenian government's steps aimed at solving the humanitarian problems of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno Karabakh, and at the same time emphasized the continuous support of the international community.

Amy Pope emphasized the effectiveness of the reforms implemented in the field of migration in Armenia and noted that the organization, in turn, is ready to contribute to their further effective implementation through close cooperation. The Director General of the International Organization for Migration praised the Armenian government's steps towards solving the humanitarian problems of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a meeting with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of Malta Ian Borg within the framework of the Munich Security Conference.

Nikol Pashinyan and Ian Borg exchanged thoughts on the developments taking place in the South Caucasus. The Prime Minister referred to the principles of the Armenian side in the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

At the same time, the effective use of the tools of the organization in accordance with the OSCE mandate to contribute to regional stability and security was emphasized.

Issues related to multi-sectoral cooperation and further development of ties between Armenia and Malta were discussed. The organization of bilateral high-level reciprocal visits was emphasized.

On the second day of the Conference, the first meeting of the Prime Minister was with Regent of Liechtenstein, Hereditary Prince Alois. The interlocutors discussed issues related to the further development of Armenia-Liechtenstein relations and expansion of cooperation. In particular, the parties emphasized the deepening of trade and economic ties and the implementation of consistent steps in that direction.

The Prince of Liechtenstein emphasized Armenia's membership in the International Criminal Court, Armenia's ambitious agenda for democratic reforms.

In the context of the development of cooperation, the interlocutors emphasized the need to organize high-level mutual visits.

The sides exchanged thoughts on the processes taking place in the South Caucasus and in the international arena. Prime Minister Pashinyan presented the principles and positions of the Armenian side in the process of normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met within the framework of the Munich Security Conference.

In his welcoming remarks, Prime Minister Pashinyan said, "It is nice to see you today. We appreciate the dynamics we have in our bilateral relations. I think we have established a very effective partnership and started the Strategic Dialogue in 2019. This year is also important, we are looking forward to the meeting with our American partners with a rather extensive agenda. This will be a very good opportunity to discuss various issues to make our dialogue more effective. Of course, regional issues are also very important for our agenda. Unfortunately, at this moment there is a new phase of tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan, recently there was a new escalation, which caused big losses. Armenian soldiers were killed on the border with Azerbaijan. I would like to discuss this situation with you as well."

In his turn, Antony Blinken noted. "It is nice to meet you today, Mr. Pashinyan. Armenia is a very valuable partner for the United States, and we appreciate its commitment to lasting peace. We can also strengthen the ties between our countries in all directions. We have discussed all this with Prime Minister Pashinyan."

The interlocutors discussed topical issues on the agenda of Armenia-US relations, emphasized the consistent development of strategic dialogue.

Reference was made to the process of normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

Nikol Pashinyan highly appreciated Mr. Blinken's personal efforts to support the negotiation process and dialogue, in the direction of ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus region. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the readiness of the Republic of Armenia to go for concrete solutions, particularly on the basis of the principles already publicly recorded in writing on international platforms.

Antony Blinken emphasized the willingness of the US to continue its efforts in the negotiation and peace process and expressed hope to continue the dialogue.

At the meeting, the sides also exchanged ideas on other issues of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz met within the framework of the Munich Security Conference.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to the Armenia-Germany bilateral agenda, as well as referred to the process of normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

Nikol Pashinyan highly appreciated Chancellor Scholz's efforts to support dialogue, peace and stability in the South Caucasus region. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Republic of Armenia to the peace process.

Olaf Scholz emphasized readiness to continue efforts directed to peace and dialogue.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a tripartite meeting within the framework of the Munich Security Conference.

The normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and steps aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region were discussed. It was agreed to continue the work on the peace treaty.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a meeting with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi in the framework of the Munich Security Conference.

Damon Wilson emphasized Armenia's progress in the above-mentioned areas in recent years, expressing his willingness to further support the programs of the Armenian government.

Further close cooperation between the Armenian government and the National Endowment for Democracy was emphasized.

Issues related to cooperation in the field of green hydrogen energy production were discussed. Reference was made to the possibilities of implementation of programs by Siemens Energy in Armenia.

Prime Minister Pashinyan attached importance to the development of green hydrogen energy in our country and expressed the government's support in the implementation of new projects in the field.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a meeting with the Chairperson of the Sub-committee on Security and Defense in the European Parliament Nathalie Loiseau (Renew Europe, France).

Issues related to Armenia-European Union cooperation were discussed, where role of the EU legislative body was emphasized. In this context, reference was made to the prospects of deepening the partnership and the efforts made by both sides in that direction.

The sides exchanged ideas on the developments taking place in the South Caucasus. The Prime Minister spoke about the approaches of the Armenian side in overcoming the existing challenges.

Prime Minister Pashinyan attached importance to the principled approach of the European Parliament in difficult conditions for the Republic of Armenia and the documents adopted with clear assessments and messages.

Nathalie Loiseau thanked the Prime Minister for awarding her with the Medal of Gratitude of the Republic of Armenia and noted that she will continue her vigorous activities in the future for the benefit of Armenia and the friendly Armenian people.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan had presented the medal to Nathalie Loiseau recently for her significant contribution to the promotion of issues of key importance for Armenia and the protection of humanitarian values.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a meeting in Munich with the Executive Director of the Fichtner company operating in the energy sector, Martin Stickel, and the company's representatives.

Issues related to cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of green hydrogen energy and the construction of storage plants were discussed.

The Prime Minister attached importance to the development of the above directions in Armenia and noted that the Armenian government is interested in deepening the cooperation with the German company.

An agreement was reached to continue discussions on the possibilities of cooperation.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister first referred to the results of the meetings and discussions held within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, as well as the meeting with the President of Azerbaijan with the participation of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Nikol Pashinyan answered a number of questions, which were related to the challenges facing Armenia, the steps to overcome them and other topics.
