Today an extraordinary Cabinet meeting was held, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan. In accordance with Article 7, Part 14 of the RA Law “On organization and activities of Government” and taking into account Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan’s statement, the impossibility of Prime Minister’s exercise of his powers was stated at the meeting.

Paragraph 5 of Annex 4 to the Decree of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia of April 21, 2018 “On the procedure of replacing the Prime Minister in the event of Prime Minister’s impossibility of exercise of powers” provides that in case of impossibility of exercise of Prime Minister’s functions, the Prime Minister’s powers shall be exercised by the First Deputy Prime Minister.
