Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received President of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Perch Sedrakian, AGBU Armenia Office Head Vazgen Yakubian and Executive Director Dalar Kazanjian
The Prime Minister highly valued AGBU’s role in promoting the spiritual, educational and cultural development of the Armenian nation and expressed readiness to back the initiatives and projects aimed at preserving the Armenian identity. Perch Sedrakian said the Diaspora is following with great enthusiasm the positive changes underway in the country, including economic developments and tourism sector tendencies.
The AGBU President emphasized that the programs implemented with the Union’s support seek to strengthen ties with the homeland and solve the problems faced in the Diaspora. He stressed that they want to harmonize AGBU programs with the Government’s priorities in order to enhance their efficiency.
The interlocutors discussed AGBU’s ongoing programs and the planned initiatives, which cover education, science, tourism and public welfare. Nikol Pashinyan and Perch Sedrakian exchanged views on the Diaspora’s consolidation around the national goals, the preservation of the Armenian identity and other issues of topical interest.
